Mr. Bernard Bentley is Mayor Madison's right-hand man. He is keen to make sure everything is just right for the Mayor, but can bumble about trying to keep up with her, causing him constant worry. He has a penchant for the amateur dramatic and can't resist any opportunity to perform.

Mr. Bentley has fair skin and brown eyes. He wears a grey suit, a maroon tie and glasses. He has a light grey beard, a moustache and hair, and is half bald with light grey hair only on the back of his head.

- He is Barbara Bentley's husband. In the original series and in Ready, Steady, Build!, Mr. Bentley was Bobsville and Fixham Harbour's building inspector, and in the Project: Build It series, he was the Mayor of Sunflower Valley.
